One of the islands
in Kitchenuhmaykoosib is haunted because this was where back in the 30's & 40's, a stingy elder used to hide his
money. His money has never been found up to this day May, 2010.
If you hear a crow in the night time. Something is going to
happen to you
or one of your loved ones.
If you kill a frog, you will get warts.
Tell your kids if they wear their shoes/boots wrong way, they will meet a bear.
Back in the 20s & before, people at that time were nomadic living in the bush
& not staying in one place, during rainy & snowy weathers, they said there is
a being covered with some hair & was mostly constructed with skeleton used
to fly & made awful horrible scream/sound. If you saw it, you would go insane.
A weird, odd looking foot long animal ( a cross breed of an otter & beaver or
muskrat) with a rat tail with white almost a human face was discovered floating on the
mainland shore of Kitchenuhmaykoosib drowned.
No one knows what it is but our ancestors used to call
it the Ugly One.
It is rarely seen but when seen especially if it is dead, it's bad omen and
something bad will happen according to our elders and ancestors.
The animal was found by & photographed by local non native Male Nurse
on the first weekend of May, 2010.
