Kitchenuhmaykoosib has their own Loch Ness Monster. Several
community
members have seen a huge water snake in the deep waters of Kitchenuhmay
koosib. They have seen it even around the bay of the community.
In the 40's and 50's, community members used to see Mermaids
sitting on
rock islands or popping out of the waters.
There is a bottomless depth near one of the islands
of Kitchenuhmaykoosib.
Elders said that this is where large snakes & mermaids come up from. We are not suppose
to point to this island with our fingers, the winds will pick
up & waters will get rough.
One of the ladies here in Kitchenuhmaykoosib has worked for 53 years
at KI Nursing Station since she was 15 years old. If you know of somebody
else who has worked more than 53 years in one place with same job, let us know by emailing

As of December 2, 2007, we have not received any word from anybody
if there is another person who has worked for 53 years or more at the
Nursing Station as a cleaning lady.
Starting in the New Year 2008, we will look into Guinness World Records
if we do not hear from anybody.
Lady mentioned here is still working at the same job as of Dec., 2007.
Nobody has not call us as of March 21, 2008 regarding if there is another
lady who has worked over 53 years as cleaning lady at the same place
(Nursing Station). I will be contacting Guinness World records before the
end of this month, March/08 to find out if someone has a 53 year record
working at the same place with the same job.
